Casting Calls and the Model
Casting calls are a model’s gateway to success that can lead them to their dream assignment or put them on the ladder to fame and fortune. PLC offers models a way to set up personal castings on their own portfolios or to respond to local or nation-wide castings. A simple setting can direct appropriate casting calls straight to your e-mail inbox. Castings are all personally approved by PLC staff to help make sure that all offers are coming from legitimate members who have been vetted and approved by the PLC staff.
Casting Calls & Scams
Scam artists are constantly changing up their strategy to target their victims, who are most often new models who fall for offers that are too good to be true. We tell all models to research any potential job’s company online and run their phone number and/or e-mail address on Google to check for scam reports. PLC takes model safety very seriously and is dedicated to keeping scam artists from contacting our members or posting bogus casting calls.
The right model for casting calls
Be sure to read through each casting thoroughly and be realistic about whether you are a good match. Casting calls are generally fairly specific, so, such as if the casting is for a six-foot-tall blonde, you shouldn’t apply if you’re a five-foot-eight brunette, even if you’d be willing to dye your hair. You would not only be wasting your own time, you would be wasting that of the client as well. It is important to make great first impressions, and if you respond to casting calls you are not suited for, you could kill any chances of working with that client in the future.
